AI Meets Reality

The Telegram channel by the author of the When Intelligence Became Cheap series. Updated: 2026-08-22. The channel is published in Russian.

The book explains the model of the world. The Practicum helps you apply it. The channel tests that model against what is happening right now.

Why it exists next to the Practicum

The Practicum is the toolkit: diagnostics, worksheets, routes. It changes slowly, because it describes a way of working rather than the latest headline.

The channel holds the other side. It shows reality in motion and tests the model against new research, products, professions, deployments and failures. Where the model turns out to miss something, that shows up in the channel first and reaches the tools here later.

How a case is examined

The channel's core question is not "what new thing did AI do" but "what actually changed because of it": in the work, the money, the decision and the accountability.

Cases follow one structure:

before → what was handed to AI → what stayed with the human → where the control point is → what came out of it.

What a source states and what the author concludes are marked apart in the text. A number keeps its source, its baseline and its conditions where those are known; when the method behind a number is not disclosed, the text says so.

Regular formats

  • Reality check — a new signal is examined by what it changes in work, process, economics, control and accountability, not by how loud the headline is.
  • Practicum — one task of 10 to 20 minutes you can run on your own work, process or AI initiative. The result is a note, a decision, a process map, a metric or a control boundary, not a general reflection.

What the channel does not do

  • retell news without a verifiable consequence;
  • promise full autonomy with no boundaries and no control;
  • sell "100 prompts that will change your life";
  • amplify the claim that AI will replace everyone.

This is not one more AI news feed.

The channel and the digest

They are different things and do not replace each other.

The channel — fast and live: short analyses of fresh events, discussion in the comments, and people who are building the future alongside AI.

The digest, AI Does the Work. People Own the Outcome. — once a week by email: the main shift of the week, examined to the end, with primary sources, consequences for people, business and trust, and the next reasonable move. Eight to ten minutes instead of the whole feed.
