Skill: week inventory

A zero-install tool for Chapter 3. It runs in your browser, calculates on your device, and sends no data anywhere. Code license: MIT.

This is the simplest honest move in Volume 1. Break down a real week and see your own exposure, not a general claim about your profession.

Open the tool

What it does

  • You list 10 to 15 tasks from last week using your calendar and messages, not your job description.
  • For each task, you choose a group: GREEN, AI alone / YELLOW, person + AI / RED, person only. You also select a Chapter 2 lever: money, savings, attention, or none.
  • The tool calculates the share of time in GREEN and YELLOW, which is your exposure, and counts busywork tasks with no lever.
  • It returns a result you can copy and three questions for an honest self-check.

How to use it

  1. Open the tool and enter the week's tasks.
  2. Copy the result.
  3. Tell your AI assistant: "Here is my week by group. Suggest one move: which YELLOW or RED task should I strengthen, and what should I check?" Ask for options and weak spots, not a finished answer.

Discipline

The groups move as tools improve, so review them every six months. The goal is not to move faster in GREEN. Move more weight toward RED work where value grows. The tool decides nothing for you. It is a map, not a verdict.

Chat version if you cannot use the browser tool

Copy this prompt into any AI chat, then list your tasks for the week.

Help me sort my working week into three groups from *When Intelligence Became Cheap*:
GREEN, "AI alone": routine work with a clear input and a result that can be checked;
YELLOW, "person + AI": the machine provides a draft or volume, and I hold context and review;
RED, "person only": judgment, accountability, trust, and difficult communication.

Here are my actual tasks from the past week, 10-15 items based on what happened rather than what my
job description says: [paste the list]

For each task, name the group and the lever it creates: 1) money, 2) time savings, 3) attention or
reputation, or "none" when it is busywork without leverage. Calculate the share of time in GREEN plus
YELLOW, which is my exposure, and count tasks with no lever. End with one honest question: where am I
hiding in busywork instead of strengthening the RED task where I am hard to replace?
